Sometimes simple is all we need. The Ducks Nuts Manifesto
Remember growing up when the solutions were simple and we thought they were the ducks nuts. That’s why we kept ours that way.
Circa 1980, Australia, when you recorded your favourite song straight off the radio onto your mixed tape, when we stayed hydrated with half time oranges and a stack on your bike was fixed with a hot bath.
Maybe we look back and think how simple it was because our minds favour the good times or maybe because it was just …. Easier? The standard medicine cabinet was a detol, radox and asprin while Grandma’s was a shot of OP rum.
Now we live in a world where the next beauty cream to flood our social media feed promises eternal youth with a face life while another tonics made from a rare fungi extracted from the remote jungles of Chili are being sold to us by a perfectly groomed Gen Z influencer. It all feels so…. contrived and a little complicated.
In between the advice of our GP, our naturopath, geared up You-Tuber and mummy blogger, have we been brainwashed into thinking the solutions needs to be pseudo-science, endorsed by a celebrity or has to come with its own tik-tok dance?
Ducks Nuts was conceived off the back of a retro statement that described the aftermath of a simple solution.
“That bath was the Ducks Nuts”
A potent salt bath after being sore from a big day on the job site and the gym. Simple. Stacked with 3 different forms of magnesium, dissolved in hot water with a touch of eucalyptus (the one that smells like the lollies you used to get at the skate rink) our little Aussie brand was born.
Why focus on just one solo ingredient? Besides the fact that all the salts combined offer a bunch of other minerals that are great for you, sometimes simple is all we need. Why look for more complex solutions, tonics, potions and creams made from a spinal fluid when we may be deficient in the basic macro minerals?
If we can first solve the problems with simple basics then we may discover that most of our problems just needed a little TLC and you’ll feel like the Ducks Nuts.
